WHY RAVAL?

THE MATERIAL

Most glasses are made from pressure-injected plastic. They’re produced in seconds, feel lightweight, and within a year they’re warped or covered in marks. That’s not how we do things.

Ours are made from acetate, a material we work with like wood: cut, sanded, and polished by hand. That’s why every frame feels different the moment you pick it up. Built to last.

THE LENSES

Some lenses are heavy, fragile, turn yellow over time, or scratch if you look at them the wrong way.

We chose a material that has been the standard in serious optics for decades: lightweight, crystal clear, and highly resistant.

Thin enough that you forget you’re wearing them, strong enough to handle everyday life.

THE DESIGN

Every frame comes from two places: El Raval, and you.

The neighborhood gives us the names: Moritz, Lobo, Gats, Dos Pebrots, Bucanero. We design inspired by what surrounds us, and what surrounds us has had its own identity long before we arrived.

You give us the rest. Every new collection is also shaped by feedback from the people already wearing our glasses.
